Abstract[edit | edit source]
Summary[edit | edit source]
A photochemical reduction of CO2 to CO was shown using dinuclear heterometallic complexes with [Ru(phen)3][PF6]2 as photosensitizer and TEOA as sacrificial electron donor under visible-light irradiation (λ = 450 nm). Catalyst CoZn shows high photocatalytic activity (TON: 65000 and TOF: 108 min-1) and selectivity for CO2 reduction. The increased photocatalytic performance of CoZn is due to the enhanced dinuclear metal synergistic catalysis (DMSC) effect between Zn(II) and Co(II).
Content of the published article in detail[edit | edit source]
The article contains results for the reduction of CO2 to CO under visible-light catalysis using mono- and dinuclear cobalt and zinc complexes as catalysts. The CoZn catalyst performs best (referring to the TON of CO production).

Further Information[edit | edit source]
Sacrificial electron donor[edit | edit source]
In this study, the experiments were done with the sacrificial electron donor TEOA.
Additives[edit | edit source]
A mercury poison test was carried out using 0,5 mL Hg as additive, to make certain that the catalytic reaction is homogeneous.
