For future applications, all system components, including the photoswitch, catalyst, and solvent, should be non‐toxic and environmentally benign. Among the greener solvents assessed here, the photoisomerization quantum yield was observed to be 25% points higher and the storage lifetime extended by 15 days in the biodegradable solvent propylene carbonate (Pc) compared with toluene, the most commonly used solvent in MOST systems. Using a custom‐built setup, a heat‐release temperature increase of 51°C was achieved in Pc, approaching the highest temperature increase reported for MOST systems operating in organic solvents. Two fundamental descriptors are established to link structure to photophysical properties: the NoCL strength S, a rigidity metric that governs electron-vibration coupling and dictates spectral bandwidth, and the orbital character γ, which controls intersystem crossing and determines triplet-state abundance. Using these descriptors, we design a series of benzophenone derivatives bearing NoCL and identify the 2SOBr system, which exhibits the highest phosphorescence efficiency of 58.22% among the explored narrowband ORTP emitters, with a full width at half maximum 36 nm under ambient conditions. As a biological probe, 2SOBr enables lysosome-specific cellular imaging with high signal-to-noise ratios of 15.93, outperforming commercial green fluorescent probes (<10). It manifests in small or absent patellae and dysplastic or missing toe- and fingernails, but the prognosis of the patients is determined by the development of renal symptoms due to dysfunctional podocytes. The pathogenetic mechanisms leading to podocyte damage and their association with specific mutations in the LMX1B gene are not understood, which has impeded the development of specific therapeutic strategies. Here we identify the pathogenetic mechanism affecting many patients with nail-patella syndrome, provide proof of principle for a novel therapeutic approach and suggest a domain-specific effect in gene regulation by LMX1B. Interestingly, missense mutations in the LIM domains of Lmx1b result in a recessive phenotype in two different knock-in mouse lines due to proteasomal degradation of the mutated proteins. The decreased half-life of the mutated LMX1B proteins can be attributed to ubiquitinylation and is prolonged by two proteasomal inhibitors, one of which was also tested in our mouse models and results in an alleviation of the renal symptoms. RNA sequencing of genetically altered podocytes indicates that LMX1B predominantly acts as a transcriptional repressor and furthermore suggests that the two LIM domains contribute to the distinct regulation of LMX1B target genes. We conclude that proteasomal inhibitors, drugs already approved for treatment of patients with multiple myeloma, warrant further studies to prevent renal failure in patients with nail-patella syndrome caused by mutations in the LIM domains. The discovery of nematic liquid crystal elastomers (LCEs) as molecular auxetic materials was a paradigm-shift in the design of mechanical metamaterials as they are tuneable, transparent, scalable, non-porous and facile to fabricate. Here, we report that smectic LCEs extend known synthetic molecular auxetics to a second family. The LCEs are acrylate-based, lightly crosslinked ( ~ 8 mol%) and polymerised in the nematic phase of a precursor mixture. The resulting smectic-A LCEs exhibit correlation lengths of a few molecular lengths, suggesting layer frustration, which we confirm occurs via the mechanism predicted by de Gennes in 1975. Three of the LCEs described exhibit negative Poisson’s ratios at strains above ~40%, thereby marking the observation of auxetic behaviour in smectic LCEs. Shear oscillatory measurements on planar and homeotropic LCEs demonstrate highly anisotropic moduli, enabling elucidation of highly anisotropic adhesive properties, with differences as large as 20x suggested between geometries. Room temperature tack measurements reveal a 31% difference in adhesion between geometries. Moreover, polyploid frequency increases with distance from glacial refugia for samples below the timberline, particularly for plants with limited dispersal abilities. These results suggest that range dynamics associated with Pleistocene climatic fluctuations rather than current temperature may have played a predominant role for the current distribution of polyploids in temperate mountain ranges. We find consistently stronger declines among formerly common species in marine and terrestrial assemblages, while freshwater assemblages show no clear directional pattern. Rare species present at the start also decline, but less so than common species, while colonists that were not present at the start of the time series compensate for losses within the rarest abundance category. Climate change and anthropogenic drivers modulate these trends, with increasing temperature and non-climatic human pressures attenuating losses of initially common species, particularly in marine systems. We qualitatively synthesize peer-reviewed mechanistic and translational studies addressing mtDNA release, pathway routing, cellular context, therapeutic targeting, and biomarkers in CRC, while drawing on pan-cancer and DNA-damage studies only when they clarify pathway architecture or translational constraints. No new experimental, patient-level, or case-series data are presented. Current evidence indicates that biological outcome depends on more than pathway activation alone. Signal amplitude and duration, STING trafficking and proteostasis, downstream IRF3- versus NF-κB-biased signaling, autophagy and mitophagy, metabolic state, pathway abundance, and responding cell type collectively determine whether activation supports antitumor immunity or chronic inflammation and immune suppression. Nuclear DNA damage can also activate noncanonical STING programs independently of cGAS, whereas cGAS can exert STING-independent functions. Quasi‐static tensile tests from 298 K down to 20 K reveal significant strengthening with retained high ductility, while DPF is strongly suppressed, showing only minor stress drops. Mechanistically, the graded architecture partitions deformation: high‐SFE regions promote dislocation glide and cellular substructures, whereas low‐SFE regions enable planar slip and deformation nanotwinning, delocalizing strain and suppressing avalanche‐like dislocation activity. Under hydrogen charging at 298 K, embrittlement resistance is preserved via a dual mechanism combining deformation‐induced nanotwins and a Mn concentration gradient. The visual appearance of the experimental task was manipulated to vary the extent to which cognitive biases could interfere with participants’ expectations of efficacy, enabling a direct test of the effect of cognitive appeal on cumulative cultural evolution. Participants in the low-appeal treatment ( n  = 240) progressively develop more efficient solutions across generations. Participants in the high-appeal treatment ( n  = 240), in contrast, produce costlier solutions, and we did not observe a statistically significant increase in efficiency over the course of the experiment. The replicated Adhesive structures exhibit high adhesion strength of up to 17.37  N cm −2 under ambient conditions, its performance retention in a vacuum environment reaches 98.26 %, alongside excellent surface adaptability, reproducibility, and resistance to micro‐vibrations. Oxytocin receptor (Oxtr) signaling in the nucleus accumbens (NAc) reinforces pair bond formation in socially monogamous prairie voles. How Oxtr influences NAc activity during affiliative behaviors with partners and rejection of strangers is unknown. Using in vivo fiber photometry, we demonstrate that genetic loss of Oxtr sex-specifically disrupts attachment behaviors and associated NAc activity. In females, loss of Oxtr reduces prosocial behaviors and NAc activity during initial chemosensory investigation of novel males; however, partner-directed affiliative behavior and associated activity increase independently of Oxtr. In males, loss of Oxtr increases prosocial investigation of novel females, and initial behavioral and neural activity patterns predict future partner preference in Oxtr-null males. However, its role in cancer remains incompletely understood. Here, we demonstrate that IDH3A is significantly overexpressed in melanoma, primarily due to DNA copy number amplification. Metabolomic analysis revealed that IDH3A overexpression enhanced multiple biosynthetic intermediates, including G6P, F6P, DHAP, and 6‐phosphogluconate, indicating metabolic reprogramming toward anabolic processes without significantly affecting ATP or lactate production. Intriguingly, IDH3A localizes to the nucleus in melanoma cells and promotes tumorigenesis independent of its dehydrogenase activity. Nuclear IDH3A interacts with transcription factor YBX1, enriching at promoter regions of oncogenes such as c‐FOS and c‐JUN, thereby suppressing apoptosis and promoting tumor growth. Furthermore, we identify NONO as a nuclear chaperone that facilitates the nuclear localization of IDH3A through direct interaction, primarily involving NONO amino acids Q166 and S207. However, conventional excitation schemes pose various constraints, limiting their scalability and practicability. Here, we demonstrate how biexciton preparation schemes with significantly improved robustness and reduced experimental demands can be identified using a novel design principle: ultrafast single-shot Floquet driving . This is achieved by employing two strongly and symmetrically detuned pulses, whose superposition generates a stroboscopic Hamiltonian that enables direct coupling between ground and biexciton states. Moreover, a pulse delay serves as a tuning knob, introducing an effective magnetic field making biexciton preparation particularly robust. Experimentally, we achieve a biexciton occupation exceeding 96% and preserve photon-pair entanglement with a fidelity of 93.4%.
